‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There have been functional MRI studies that show that positive thinking can lead to “rewiring” in the brain that accounts for better moods.  It is truly amazing that we do have this control of ourselves.  I know that our society casts many unpleasant circumstances upon us, but the way we handle these challenges affects our well being; so, it is wise to count our blessings and express gratitude for them—it keeps us healthy!

Solitude

“”Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!””

Solitude
Solitude can offer a peaceful mental break to a stressful day. Our society demands so much of us and some days become virtually intolerable. But finding a quiet space alone allows us to refocus on what is important and calms our souls. Amazingly, short rests can change our attitudes and our entire day.

Satisfaction

When we get what we want, we have that feeling of being satisfied. But what about when things don’t go as we would wish? It seems that we often let our circumstances define our satisfaction, which impacts our level of happiness. Perhaps we should take a different perspective and just appreciate and be satisfied with what we have in any situation. That contentment may be very satisfying after all and lead to deeper joy.
