But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding. But we will not boast beyond limits, but will boast only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:12-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Our identity is our distinguishing character or personality.  Indeed, it is who we really are. With all the social pressures to mold us into someone that fits someone else’s desires, it is no wonder we have so many identity issues.  As I look back over my life, I think that perhaps I would have been more of the real me in a musical career.  While I had the opportunity to play several musical instruments growing up, no one rewarded that behavior like they rewarded academics.  Now I have trained so long and hard in my profession and given up the best years of musical development.  I try not to be resentful of my past so I move forward full steam, but always mindful of my identity.  I believe that we need to allow our youth to become their true selves by allowing them to seek their true identity, the one God gave them.

Sincerely Sarah

Sincere defines my daughter’s character and artwork. She brings such heartfelt joy into her art that resonates with her clientele. From personal portraits to live wedding paintings, she creates amazing keepsakes that will be treasured forever. Obviously my BLOG features her artwork because it inspires me. I hope that you will visit her website and enjoy it too.

There are many definitions for class. One of them is “showing
elegance of style, taste, or personal behavior.” I do not believe that this sort of class directly follows socioeconomic class. We all know very wealthy people who have absurd style, taste and behavior. Granted, it may be hard for the poor to demonstrate class, but I think class always requires strength of character. Instead of trying to espouse class, our country seems obsessed with materialism and often disregards true class. Imagine how different the world would be if we were all classy.

What an amazing story of redemption—the Virginia Cavaliers Men’s Basketball Team goes from worst to first. My deepest respect goes out to Coach Bennett for his character and composure. Today, on Mr. Jefferson’s Birthday, I salute all the hard work and praise God for guiding this team to its first National Championship! Wahoowa🏀

It seems that true elegance reveals itself in nature so often. Today I was watching a swan glide effortlessly across the calm water with such gracefulness and beauty. It seemed removed from all of the worries of life we endure; when in fact, it faces far more true dangers. And I have seen these elegant birds fight with extreme resolve when threatened. Still it reminds me that how we handle ourselves confirms everything about our character.
