Strawberry Pie

Boil 3 cups water and mix in a pack of sugar free strawberry Jello and sugar free, fat free Jello vanilla pudding. Turn off heat. Add 2 quarts of sliced strawberries and let set for 5 minutes. Pour into graham cracker crust and chill. You may add low fat whipped cream on top when served.

Little did I know that this dish is often the best on any Mexican menu. (Thanks sweet daughter) Lebanese immigration to Mexico started in the 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1892, the first Lebanese arrived in Mexico from Beirut in French ships to Mexican ports. They brought this recipe to Mexico. Grilling a vertical spit of stacked meat slices and cutting it off as it cooks was developed in the 19th century in Ottoman Turkey. This is döner kebab, which is the origin of tacos al pastor, Middle Eastern shawarma, and Greek gyros. Now I understand why I like them so much!!
