Transformation

‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Transformation

Lately it seems there is a tsunami of evil sweeping across the world. The tendency is to cast blame on others, but we must all start the change within ourselves. I believe that when we focus on God and allow His Truth to prevail in our lives, we will be transformed into His likeness and thereby start the necessary healing. We must cast aside our self centered desires because our world needs a transformation.

Steadfast Love

09393A47-2721-47BC-8956-95DF5D0B2447“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭16:34‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Steadfast Love

Steadfast love is mentioned in Scripture hundreds of times. Yes, it means unwavering love that is fixed in place, resolute, immovable, devoted, committed, dedicated—it stands through all adversities and time. We humans cannot fathom love to this degree. We somehow think we can define love however we desire, that fits our circumstances. But God is Love that is steadfast; so why would we want anything else?

Even a Rose has to Blossom

CE21349C-64A6-448F-B0CA-5884C678D0E1“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Even a Rose has to Blossom

One of the lessons I have learned in life is that it takes time to get the results one wants. We learn patience when we do not get what we want in our time. Just think—even a Rose has to blossom and that takes time. In our self centered world, we want everything we want immediately. Often, the best things only come with hard work, perseverance and patience. We must keep our eyes on the prize. As I always have told my children, “Do your best, do what’s right and trust in God.”

The Geode King

“So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭GNT‬‬

My son just published his first book, The Geode King. It is the first of a trilogy that he is writing while attending law school. Harry has always been a gifted writer with an extremely creative mind and a keen focus on the details. I believe his work will become a classic. Check it out on the link above and if you like it, please write a review and share with your friends. My daughter is the illustrator.   http://www.sincerelysarahstudios.com

Thick Skin

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:25‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Thick Skin

One definition of thick skin is the ability to keep from getting upset or offended by things other people say and do. It may be especially difficult when these people are our family and loved ones. But we should always focus on God and do our best and do what is right. Truly this is our greatest freedom from a fallen world. Our self centered society depends on trying to please everyone and on blaming someone for everything; when in reality, that is impossible.

Pride

2905515E-7704-41D4-8755-94CC544D9D7D“One’s pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Pride

In many ways, our culture has become very self-centered to the point of feeling proud of our own self-worth. Why do we praise pride? I believe it takes our focus off God who deserves all our focus and praise. We can feel joy for doing our best, but I believe pride merely tries to conceal something which we do not want others to discover—ultimately our own powerlessness without the power of God.

Faith

EC19608F-2DE2-43F8-995E-54E2D0400741“He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17:20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Faith
Today it is gorgeous in the mountains of Virginia; and, as I sit on my deck and look at a view similar to the above painting by my daughter ( http://www.sincerelysarahstudios.com ), I reflect on my own Faith and how much it has grown and still needs to grow. Truly just as a tiny mustard seed grows with the proper environment over time to be a huge plant, our Faith can grow so strong over time that nothing is impossible.
