As I leave Down Under for the third time, I realize each time gets harder. I love Australia for so many reasons…beautiful diverse landscapes, unique wild animals, wide open opportunities, BUT, mainly the people—they are so hospitable that I give them the pineapple art above as a token. Thanks to everyone for being so kind and generous❤️🇳🇿
Magnetic Island is an island 5 miles offshore of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. This mountainous island has a large National Park with one of the largest koala populations and trails between the populated bays and a number of tourist destinations, such as the World War II forts. The island has long become established as a holiday destination with many hotels and several resorts. Magnetic Island is named for its apparent mysterious effect on Captain Cook’s compass.
