Gratitude for Life

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There have been functional MRI studies that show that positive thinking can lead to “rewiring” in the brain that accounts for better moods.  It is truly amazing that we do have this control of ourselves.  I know that our society casts many unpleasant circumstances upon us, but the way we handle these challenges affects our well being; so, it is wise to count our blessings and express gratitude for them—it keeps us healthy!

Self-Reflection

Self-Reflection

Self-reflection is paramount for a person to learn from his/her mistakes and past situations. Ideally, it is a systematic way to learn to be positive and make better decisions. In the process, one distances him/herself from his/her ego and thereby learns to appreciate the qualities that improve one’s self acceptance; and it allows the individual to have better understanding and empathy for others.
Artists often paint self-portraits which helps them “know thyself” and then their ability to capture the essence of others is improved.
My daughter’s most recent self-portrait seems to capture hers perfectly.

Positive Attitude

Every day I battle with the stresses of life and maintaining a positive attitude. It seems that the world is collapsing into a chaotic quagmire of anger and hatred and hurt and pain. But I try to remember that focusing on the many blessings in my life always allows me to see with rose colored glasses. Then I realize that changing my circumstances starts within me. The Spirit inside me ultimately guides me to do the right thing, despite my contrariness and my inherent laziness. Life is a journey that should bear good fruit.
